Country with less anxiety

As I wrote in prologue, I flied to Denmark to know about ‘Happiness’. I asked this question to Danes many times: ‘Why do you think Denmark has high ranked happiness?’

Most of them said ‘Why do you ask such a thing?’, and then I told them Denmark is called the happiest (sometimes second or third ranked) country in the world. When I started to talk about that kind of theme they mostly laughed.

They thought the reason seriously and most popular answer was ‘It may be because Danish welfare system is good, medical care and education is free.’

‘Danish welfare system’ is the theme which appear if we talk about Denmark, and there are many great articles on the web. In that reason I don’t talk too much about this theme but it exist certainly as a piece of happiness.

‘Relatively Happy’ because they have less ‘Anxiety = Unhappiness’

Why does it connect to happiness – because I think it is decreased ‘anxiety’ thorough our whole life and it push down the level of ‘unhappiness’. They can handle raising the bottom and less gap amoung themselves.

Danish tax is generally expensive (ex. 25% consumption tax), but instead of that, they have guarantee that they can get the money back. Free education helps them to go to university for free, additionally, they can get financial support from government. It makes them concentrate on their study without any part-time jobs to earn their cost-of-living.

This financial support covers 70months in total. If you have been working for a long time after graduate and want to study again in different subject, you can get this support. For instance if you got this support 4 years in young times, you can get as a next education for remain two years.

Furthermore, the system basically covers medical expenses (Part of the medicine fee is at your own expense, but it is basically free to see a doctor). This benefit covers people who live above 3 months in Denmark. In addition, Danes can get orthodontics for free up to the age of 18(I am really jealous of that, because it cost a lot in Japan).

However, for people who are above 18 years old are not free of dental care. It is expensive even part of the fee will be covered, because its price of things.

While I stayed at Denmark, I had accidents (two times) that my tooth fillings came off. I payed ca.€780 in total. My friend who had 5 cavities also paied €390~465(So… €77 per each?). It was overwhelmingly expensive and I realize how thankful dental health is.

I guess they understand such a high tax because there are a lot of advantages.

They feel society connect with their money directly, that means they can have a relief which each person exist in the society. It might be said the reason why society can accept people's opinions easily because Denmark is a small country, but I felt they think super active about their society and that is their mentality.
